| Bruges, Belgium is one of the best-preserved medieval towns in Europe. Due to the many canals that run through the city, it is called the Venice of North Europe. Bruges has many winding, narrow cobblestone streets with wonderful old buildings. The town becomes even more beautiful at night when the lights come on illuminating all of the attractions including the Onze Lieve Vrouwekerk, a church started around 1220. There is art and a beautiful square with tiny shops and cafes. You can enjoy view of the city by taking a horse drawn carriage ride or a tour boat ride on the canals. Bruges even has a Michelangelo sculpture and swans in their parks. |

An ivy covered bridge. Bruges too, has canals lining the city, like Amsterdam or Straussburg. |

Carriage rides are offered from the Markt. What could be more charming that a horse and buggy ride through a town that looks like it is still in the 1600's |
