| Florence was the heart of the European Renaissance. This city was the home to the most famous artists of the world, Leonardo Da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raphael, Brunelleschi and Bottecelli to name a few. Florence is the home to the world’s most famous statue, the Statue of David to found at the Galleria dell’ Academia, as well as some of the finest museums in the world including the Ufizzi and the Pallazo Pitti. In the center of town is the world famous Duomo or cathedral designed by the great renaissance architect, Brunelleschi in the 1500’s. Next to the Duomo are the Baptistery and the Campanile. A few minutes walk to the river Arno and you will be seeing the world famous Ponte Vecchio, built in 1345. There used to be a number of very old bridges crossing this river, but except for the Ponte Vecchio, they were all destroyed during WW II. In the past the bridge was used by butchers and tanners that would throw the waste into the river, today the tiny stores on the bridge sell gold jewelry. Florence is a great city for history, culture and great food. |

This was the only anti war graffetti, I saw in Europe. Although I am sure there was more that I missed. |

Do you see a the back of someones head peeking around the corner and looking down the street. Hint, he is wearing glasses, and has a bakers hat on. |
