The biggest attraction in Cologne is really big, it is the largest gothic cathedral in Germany and one of the largest in Europe. The Cologne Cathedral dwarfs the rest of this modern city. This city was destroyed in WWII and the city leveled, all except for the church, though, it was heavily damaged. This church dates from the 1200’s with work going on for hundreds of years. To get a full view of the cathedral, cross the Rhine River and look back it is a very impressive site.
