| Fort Lauderdale may be the Venice of America, and Bruges may be the Venice of North Europe, and the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas is a nice re creation, but there is nothing like the real Venice, Italy. It is one of a kind, even in Italy a country of beautiful cities. The main attraction is the world famous Grand Canal, the superhighway of canals and the hundreds of smaller canals that crisscross the city and the gondolas that are everywhere. . At one time this city was the crossroads between the Europe and Asia. Today it is one of the most popular tourist cities in the world. Some of Venice’s attractions include the Doges Palace and St Mark’s Cathedral which surround perhaps the most famous square in Europe, San Marco Square, the Rialto Bridge and the Bridge of Sighs. |
